As Ryu heads off to rescue his clan, Ayane is sent by Murai to investigate the carnage. Noticing the nearby Hayabusa village ablaze, Ayane rushes in to inform her Master Murai, finding him and in mid conversation with Master Ryu, to her surprise. When Ryu Hayabusa enters the domain of Murai's Ninja Fortress, Ayane becomes Murai's messenger, relaying messages to Ryu via Kunai scrolls. Short combos are the best (and only) way to damage him especially with a Level 1 Dragon Sword. Keep sliding away if he gets too close because you want him to attack from mid-range only! When you evade his mid-range attack, roll in and use a YYX combo and then slide away (see screencaps above for the combo sequence)! The best way to defeat Doku is to make him come to you and then let him attack from mid-range. To avoid the Rush attack, wait for him to sheathe and then roll away TWICE before he zooms.
For the boomerang, just block it! When Doku extends his left arm out, he's going for the grab-and-stab, so quickly roll away! And when Doku does the Rush Attack, he sheathes his sword and then zooms in with a hard swipe.
To avoid the Tremor, either jump far away from the tremor circle or jump straight up as he stabs the ground.
